Beginning on 3/24/23, TIS will switch from deprovisioning Chromebooks to disabling them.

This change will allow us to lock devices down and render them unusable.

What is the difference between Disabling and Deprovisioning?

Disabling a Chromebook blocks access to the device while keeping it registered to the organization's domain. It is a temporary measure to prevent unauthorized access or to remove a device temporarily from use. Deprovisioning a Chromebook removes it entirely from the organization's domain and wipes all user data from the device. It is a permanent action done when a device is no longer needed or being replaced.
